Local Information about Cambridge

Cambridge is a beautiful university city in East Anglia and the county town of Cambridgeshire which is approximately 50 miles (80.47 kilometres) north of London, which is accessed via train in just under one hour. In addition, there are excellent road links to the M11, A14 and A1.
Cambridge is well known as being the main centre of the Silicon Fen and many major companies have their businesses located here such as AstraZeneca, Marshalls, Vindis, Napp, Arm holdings and Google to name a few. Cambridge is quite simply steeped in history and character, and is visited by over 7.6 million people annually. Visitors are drawn to Cambridge University and Addenbrooke's Hospital which are two world-renowned attractions of this beautiful city.

The city is divided into 14 electoral wards: Abbey, Arbury, Castle, Cherry Hinton, Coleridge, East Chesterton, Kings Hedges, Market, Newnham, Petersfield, Queen Edith's, Romsey, Trumpington, and West Chesterton.

Cambridge Facilities & Attractions

Cambridge has something for everyone with a diverse range of restaurants, shops, business and services including a range of incredible local businesses, to familiar high street shops. Many of which can be found in the commercial centre of Cambridge, the Grand Arcade.

There are a number of landmarks and attractions our city has to offer from the Fitzwilliam Museum, to punting on the River Cam under the mathematical bridge, strolling around Kings Chapel or the stunning Botanical Gardens, or perhaps a leisurely bike ride to the village of Grantchester to visit the historic and serene tea rooms, frequented by histories greatest minds.

Cambridge is a wonderful place to live with some of the best schools in the country, both independent and public. Addenbrookes, the internationally renowned teaching hospital is here and the historic university speaks for itself. Additionally, with many of the major biotechnological and pharmaceutical employers based here, it is hard to find a better place to call home.
