Acle, a winner of the Eastern Daily Press ‘Village of the Year’ is considered to be the gateway to the Broads, the starting point of many boating holidays.

Acle has many amenities, including a library, two schools, a pre-school and excellent recreational facilities.

Over the years Acle is seen as a small market town on the River Bure on the Norfolk Broads located halfway between Norwich and Great Yarmouth making it a go to place to live.

Famous in some ways for the nine-mile Acle Straight which crosses marshes and wetlands which was constructed by digging two parallel ditches 11 metres apart to shorten the distance between Great Yarmouth and Norwich by 3.5 miles over reclaimed land.
