Welwyn Garden City

Welwyn Garden City in Hertfordshire celebrated its hundredth anniversary last year with the first residents moving in on 6th December 1920.

The city’s radical plan and innovative approach to living were based on new ideas formulated by the Garden City movement, of which this was the first, founded by Ebenezer Howard in 1899, and realised by Chief Architect and Planner, Louis de Soissons with the city providing much relief for an ever-increasing London population.

With a population reaching close to 50,000 Welwyn Garden City provides a safe and varied living space particularly with young families and is great for London commuting & links to both the A1 (M) and M25 motorway.
